About Me
Hello! Thank you for stopping by. On this page you will find some suggested guidelines to follow as you begin your investigative journey.
Ask yourself, “Why am I looking into reverse mortgages? What is the financial problem or situation I am trying to fix: Is it to retire? Am I looking to have more cash to pay bills or cover future health care costs?” Once you have the problem clearly in mind, you will be in a much better position to know if a reverse mortgage is the best solution or not for your financial situation.
At the beginning and during your journey of asking questions with a reverse mortgage professional, you need to know that you can trust the person. That can be determined to some degree over the phone, but it is always best, when possible, to meet in person and have a conversation. Listen to your “gut”. Do you sense that the professional has your best interest in mind? Are they listening to you? Do you sense they understand your situation and any financial problem you are trying to solve? How knowledgeable do they seem about their area of expertise? Are they asking the right questions and communicating in a manner that lets you know they understand your need? Second, what do you know about the company they represent? How long has the company been around? What kind of reputation or credibility do they have? Your response to these questions is critical.
I hope this initial introduction has been helpful. If you follow what I have just shared, you will be spared a lot of grief that comes from working with a professional that is not a good fit for you.
